Rotting My Brain

I don't know why I watch this, but I'm beyond apologizing for it. To be honest, I really got bored quickly with the auditions this time around. I am excited for Hollywood Week, though...that's when I really get invested.

Dave is in LOVE with The Golden Girls. We usually watch an episode at night. It's sick, twisted, and totally raunchy. But, that's Dave for ya.

When I was sick, Little House was a comfort to me. I watch it whenever I can (usually the weekends when Dave is far, far away...sleeping).

Jamie at Home. I want more shows like this. Love him. The end.

I used to HATE the Barefoot Contessa and everything she stood for (brioche, fennel, roast chickens, Jeffrey) . Now, I'm in love. I never realized this before, but she tries to make complicated recipes simple. I love that! I watch one of her episodes every day. She's so cute. I'm even making one of her cupcake recipes for my mom's birthday (out of the box for the birthday, and from scratch the next week to compare).

Every once and a while, you find that special show. :::sigh::: I am completely obsessed with Project Runway. I can't get enough of it. There is something really intriguing to me about people being creative in a high-pressure situation. I love watching them develop their ideas and execute them. I want to rent the previous seasons.

"If all other variables are equal, your capacity to know God deeply will probably diminish in direct proportion to how much television you watch. There are several reasons for this. One is that television reflects American culture at its most trivial. And a steady diet of triviality shrinks the soul. You get used to it. It starts to seem normal. Silly becomes funny. Funny becomes pleasing. And pleasing becomes soul-satisfaction. And in the end the soul that is made for God has shrunk to fit snugly around triteness."

I love Jeffrey and Ina. Have you seen that show on HGTV where there are 3houses to choose from and then they bring an architect w/them and he does his magic on the computer and shows how the rest of their budget can be spent on renovations and then they pick a house based on his designs....that show is sooo good.

If you haven't seen HGTV's Design Star I think you might enjoy it. The entire first season in on iTunes, under "podcasts"....for free! (no commercials either)

I don't have cable (which is good and bad) so I've never watched project runway...but a lot of people seem to love it. Someday...
