I'm taking inspiration from Aber for this one*:

Thirty feels really close. I have 365 days to accomplish all I wanted in my twenties. I need to get cracking. Birthdays are depressing for me, especially this one.

*His blog is genius, by the way. It's one of my current favorites.

:::UPDATE:::
my day just got a whole lot happier. Biz, an awesome girl, had her class make me this (we share a birthday):

30 was when my body started to actively rebel against me. I had to learn new stretches and how to effectively use ice so I could function.

Other than that it wasn't too bad though.

But... I've got 1,010 day until I turn 40 and I can feel it breathing down my neck.

That is an AWESOME picture! I feel like these magical, productive "20s" have gotten eclipsed by having a child. All of a sudden it doesn't feel so exciting and adventurous, it's just life. Not that I don't like it, or that I'm complaining at all, it's just different. Right now I don't feel like there will be much difference between my 20s and 30s--they're all just oozing together. :-)

Call me when you are 38 and 40 is nipping at your heels.....when you are staring death in the face and it is asking you if you want cancer, heart attack or a slowly debilitating arthritis.

I guess there is also another way to look at Birthdays......if you aren't having one...well, um, I guess having one is better than NOT having one, if you know what I mean.
