I have 30 days until I turn 30, so I thought I'd try to choose 30 moments that have helped shape who I am and want to be. Coming up with the list has been challenging...and enlightening. These are in no particular order.
18: Friendship with Brian Lusky.
This guy. I can't even think of how to talk about how I feel about him. Here's a text he sent me last week that had me crying in front of perfect strangers: "Sweet. I'm packed into the Lee McDerment session on worship standing room only. I love doing ministry with u. This is so good." What I love about Brian:
- He's my American compatriot against the delusional British people we married.
- He is fully supportive of my ministry (and I of his). When no one else is on my page, I can always count on him speaking up about it.
- His ability to lead people into worship is incredible. The scary thing is, he hasn't even tapped into 50% of it yet. It's coming.
- He's a faithful friend, even when I suck.
- He 100% gets me.
- He's an artist. I love artists.
- We work really well together. Our creative process is insane.
How it shaped me:
- When Brian came to Grace, another piece of the Dream Team PuzzleTM was placed. My ministry life immediately got more exciting.
- He makes me want to be more creative. I want to be the person he turns to for ideas.
- I love doing ministry at Grace because he's here.
- I kind of like playing weird board and video games. Kind of.
